Technical challenges for aviation in a changing environment

Between 18 – 21 November 2013 the 1st ECATS conference took place in Berlin, Germany. The five key areas of multi-disciplinary expertise within ECATS International Association were covered:

  • Alternative Fuels – mitigation options
  • Climate Impact of aviation emissions
  • Aviation environmental modelling and databases
  • Optimal flight trajectory: climate & safety
  • Atmospheric observation for aviation safety

This scientific conference gave the opportunity to present state-of-the art research, reviewed recent achievements and at the same time provided a strategic perspective on future directions. The conference program presented research in plenary sessions with specific break-out sessions allowing in-depth discussions and poster presentations.
