5th ECATS conference – 27-29 Jan 2026, Brussels, BE
Building on the success of previous ECATS conferences, the International Association will partner with the OLGA project to deliver a two-part event over three days to bring together the international research and practitioner community in reducing the climate impact of aviation.
Day 1
This first day will be of direct significance to the OLGA and other Lighthouse projects (Stargate and Tulips), built on identifying commonalities between projects, and the need for discussion and information sharing to work productively as these projects enter their delivery phase. It will feature a curated selection of invited speakers, ensuring high-quality, relevant contributions. A panel session is also proposed, potentially involving project coordinators to provide strategic insights. The overall focus will be practitioner-based, highlighting practical implementations and the tangible outcomes of project activities with a specific focus on (but not limited to):
- Waste / environmental management
- Sustainable fuels comprising hydrogen fuels
- Green Flights and Interdependency
- Ground side energy, multimodal transport
Day 2 & 3
The second and third day of the conference will be a more conventional scientific conference with a call for abstracts and papers rather than by invitation. Several key ECATS themes will form the basis of the conference technical sessions in a plenary fashion.
TECHNICAL SESSIONS are considered for, but are not limited to, the following topical areas:
- Airport Air Quality
- Alternative Fuels
- Climate Impact
- Green Flights and Interdependency
- Sustainable Propulsion Technology
- Circular Aviation (Aircraft whole lifecycle)
- Poster session.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Abstracts of approximately 250 words, in English, are due no later than 3rd November 2025, for both technical papers and poster papers. Please submit your abstract to the programme committee via the Abstract Submission Form. Papers based on original, previously unpublished research or studies are preferable, but not mandatory.  In order to submit an abstract, you will need to create an account on the abstract submission system.
